Well so far I don't mind 7. That it's better than Vista is very obvious. The only irksome thing so far, apart from the usual pre-installed Internet Explorer has been that it still scans the install files which can take a long time.

Hey there. Ha, you'd be surprised what we can plate. Baby shoes being quite popular. They look kinda cool when done too. I mostly do analyses of which most are titrations of course.

It's taken me four months to spot this post and pass on my congratulations, but better late than never, eh. That's great news, well done.

Are you now qualified to electroplate my dog? I think he'd look really slick with a brushed steel finish.

I wish <i>Microsoft</i> would die, full stop. I made the mistake of thinking that Windows 7 would be an improvement over XP so installed it on my parent's PC. It's an an absolute joke - with every aspect there's a gaping divide between the way things <i>should</i> work and what <i>actually</i> happens.

For instance it keeps on reinstalling their printer and setting it up as a new one. Whenever this happens it sets the new one as the default, though sends documents to the secondary one which fail to print. Removing one printer and setting the remaining one to the default doesn't work, and curiously if you try to rename its icon to match the deleted printer you can't because "a printer with that name already exists".

Then there's the hobbled network connectivity. You can connect another PC directly to your router or via its wireless antenna and it's pot look whether you'll be able to get on the net. Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't. On other occasions it'll work for five minutes and then drop the connection for no apparent reason.

Another of my favourite bodges is the 'search this folder' box. Type in some keywords, press return and nothing happens. The only button next to the field is an 'x' which cancels the query!

Hey, at least it looks pretty. That's the main thing, right?

My feelings are that the Tea party sprung out of those Republicans that feel that the Republican party has lost its way, in that they have lost some of thier conservarive values, and the need for this third party is the outcome.

I feel that instead of a third party, which has been talked about for a long time, and nothing to show for it, we need a revitalized Republican party that revisits its conservative roots. Moreover, at the end of the day, with the third party that the Tea Party movement seems to insist upon will be too similar to the old world Republican party for the general population to differentiate. It will make politics more confusing to Joe, and Jane Voter.

Well put! I'm of the opinion that when you put tremendous effort into something, and make absolutely no head way, its time to cut your losses and persue something else. I understand how Obama might think this bill is his life's work, however, when met with such strong opposition by the American people, I think he should put some of his eggs in another, perhaps more helpfull, basket. It just shows how corrupt the administration is when we watch all the trickery they are currently usinng, for example: reconciliation, deem and pass, etc.

I think your spot on here with your predictions Aaron.

The biggest probably I see for both the tea Party and the GOP is they do not have a good leader to rally around. They all have feet of clay so to speak. The irony is one of the few people who would probably be fitting for the Tea Party (in my view anyway), Colin Powell, has more or less sworn off politics and is somewhat damaged goods after the last Bush Presidency.

Without a good leadership to rally round to focus the battle cry as it were I think they will continue to be a thorn in the side of poltico's but I'm not sure if they'll ever be more than that in the end

Well, I think that the announcements of the Win7 Series Phones (no longer Windows Mobile) planned for this year are pretty kewl.
<i>"So no music while you iWork. No browsing this while flipping to that."</i>
From what I've seen (obviously early prototypes), the Win7 phones will be able to flip around from one mode to another pretty well. As a huge Zune HD fan, I am jazzed about the whole UI, too.
